I just watched the trailer for 50 Shades of Grey. I have tried very hard to ignore this movie because it saddens me.
We know from history that a major reason for the fall of the Roman Empire was the continued moral decay of it’s society. Divorce became rampant, sports became more and more brutal, and the sanctity of life became non-existent.
Based on the book of the same title, this movie is reported to have a full 20 minutes, 1/5 of the entire film, of graphic hardcore sex, most of it violent.
As reported by Emma Green in The Atlantic:
“…Fifty Shades casually associates hot sex with violence…Ana says yes to sex she’s uncomfortable with because she’s too shy to speak her mind, or because she’s afraid of losing Christian; she gives consent when he wants to inflict pain, yet that doesn’t prevent her from being harmed.”
Folks, I would like your help in supporting 50 Shades the Pledge. 50 Shades of Grey comes out this Friday. We only have a matter of days to spread the word about the damage this book and movie are doing to young girls. We can make an impact. We can make a difference.

The MN Child Protection League has prepared FB and website banners, printable posters, flyers and ads. All a person has to do is go to the website and click on the graphic button and choose any type of graphic they might need to help promote the campaign to “Take the Pledge”
Any organization can use any of the material at no cost in any way as long as they do not modify it.
We know that we will not stop the rush to the movie, but with two more sequels coming behind it, maybe we can change the culture just a little and save individual minds, existing relationships, and relationships to come.
As I watched the the movie trailer to prepare to write this, I noticed how mild it was next to the details that have emerged about the content that the movie explores.
That tells me that the creators want us to see it before we know what is in it. That tells me that they have to deceive in order to trap people into paying to see the filth that is will truly be. That tells me that even the creators understand that this movie goes beyond the pale.
This is so important folks. As we watch our society decline, we lose what makes us great. Where were we 40 years ago? Where will we be in another 40 years?
