I am constantly reminded of the gullibility of folks when they go silent if someone misrepresents the Scripture that says “Judge not lest ye be judged,” which is not addressing the Christians ability to “judge” the world by applying God’s standards to it. In point of fact, we are given perfect guidelines to know the difference between good and evil, to in fact make a “judgement” as to what is or is not permissible by God himself.
The Christian has been gifted with a “discerning spirit” in the indwelling of the Spirit of God Himself. It is this gifting and enabling which allows us to “know the times and the spirits” and discern wisely and with clarity the reality of what is going on around us not the spin nor the deception that so many are under.
Look to the leading of God’s Spirit and the wisdom of His counsel and judgement. We are not to judge one another in a spirit of pride, but in a spirit of humility, recognizing that we are “the chief of sinners.” We are to do good, for not to do good is a sin.
It is in this day and age of deception, delusion, spiritual wickedness, and demon-driven agendas that we who have been reconciled to God and indwelt by His Spirit must use the gifts that He endows us with in His service, acknowledging that any wisdom that we might proclaim must be based in His Word and empowered by His Spirit in order for His Will to be done in us and through us. America needs us desperately to show our Godly wisdom, our Godly judgement and God’s love which should flow like a river to those around us, refreshing many, but like salt being a cleansing and purifying agent.
Judge as God enables you to do so. Our nation cries out for it, our souls long for it and our future depends on the soundness and the depth of our judgement if we are to endure.
