This week, I heard a report in the local press pertaining to the precautions and “readiness protocols” that were going be used in my locality to ensure that the current threat presented by the Ebola virus would be handled prudently. Presumably, this refers to the efforts of authorities and health care workers to prevent cases from occurring locally, and to contain and effectively treat any that do arise.
I found this interesting, since (as I indicated in a column for WorldNetDaily last weekend) there are no precautions or readiness protocols in existence that can prevent cases from occurring locally, or to contain and effectively treat any that do arise, because the authorities in the U.S. have never addressed an Ebola outbreak within our borders before.
This will be exacerbated – as I stated last weekend – by the fact that the protocols for handling Ebola, a Biosafety Level 4 (BSL-4) infectious agent, are not being disseminated nor the proper procedures followed.
Also this week, nurses at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas (where Thomas Eric Duncan became the first person to die of the Ebola virus, and where two nurses who treated him contracted the virus) alleged that a haphazard and sloppy care system was maintained during Duncan’s treatment.
This didn’t surprise me and, horrifying though it may be, I believe that this is what Americans have to look forward to with regard to the ostensible containment of Ebola and treatment of Ebola patients in this country – not so much because our health care workers are incompetent, but because they simply do not have the proper knowledge nor background for dealing with this disease.
From the outset of the widespread concern having developed regarding Ebola in America, the perception of many with respect to how the threat has been handled by the Obama administration has been pretty dim. This has only been intensified by the obfuscation and apparent miscalculations on the part of the president and his medical minions.
All the while, the administration has vehemently resisted a travel ban from Ebola-stricken nations, crafting politically-expedient rhetoric to validate its position, rhetoric that flies in the face of common sense as well as the conventional epidemiological wisdom.
“First and foremost, I want the American people to know that our experts, here at the CDC and across our government, agree that the chances of an Ebola outbreak here in the United States are extremely low”
– Barack Obama, September 16, 2014
First, we were assured by Obama that the chances of Ebola coming to the United States was low. Then it got here, and we were assured by Obama that the chances of an Ebola outbreak in the United States are low.
Now we have learned, via Israel’s national news agency Arutz Sheva no less, that a federal government-funded study found a nearly 25 percent chance of Ebola reaching the United States in September of this year. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the federal government’s Models of Infectious Disease Agency co-funded a September 2 analysis on the threat of Ebola’s spread to countries including the United States, according to Arutz Sheva. The analysis was circulated among federal officials.
Not only does the study unequivocally contradict Obama’s September 16 statements, but it also contradicts the anti-travel ban claims made by the White House, the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
So Obama was plainly lying when he said on September 16 that experts “across our government” agreed that America’s Ebola vulnerability was extremely low. The CDC also repeatedly assured the American people that the Ebola risk was low, even after the alarming government study was completed.
CDC director Dr. Thomas Frieden, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases were likely informed by the White House that there would be no travel ban, and ordered to make this logically palatable to the American people. This they have engaged in with vigor, if not with credibility.
To add insult to injury, this week, Obama appointed an “Ebola czar” who has no medical credentials whatsoever.
Is an Ebola outbreak – which Obama is apparently as dedicated to averting as he is the ascendancy of ISIS in the Middle East – a sick, twisted Halloween “trick” Obama is playing on America? His actions thus far – with every action he has taken since he became president having undermined this nation – are certainly in keeping his background as a lifelong Marxist and Islamic sympathizer (or lifelong Muslim with Marxist leanings; take your pick).
He and closest colleague-collaborators look upon the entire American system with derision, and count this nation as everything that is wrong with the world. Is it that much out of the realm of possibility that these Lenin, Stalin, Mao, and Castro-worshipers might arrange for the American people to suffer as “restitution” for all of the suffering they perceive us as having caused?
All this gives rise to a common-sense question: When will the American people get out of denial and stop pretending that we have a president who is concerned with his Oath of Office, his constitutional mandates, and the public welfare, and demand appropriate and decisive action?
If things continue on their present course, Ebola will overwhelm our health care system and expand to epidemic proportions in America. Here, I trust that the Alinskyite device of overwhelming the system isn’t lost of the reader. In such an event, the administration will simply make sheepish claims of ignorance, lack of information, and having “underestimated the threat” from Ebola, much as they did with ISIS. Perhaps they’ll even put some of the blame off on George W Bush. Then, they’ll make new pledges to get their act together…
The chances America will lose another 20 million people to Ebola are extremely low…
Happy Halloween. And by the way, Mr. Obama – your mask has fallen off…
Arutz ShevaWikipedia: Arutz Sheva is an Israeli media network identifying with Religious Zionism. It offers online news in English, Hebrew, and Russian. Arutz Sheva offers free podcasts, live streaming radio, a daily email news update, streaming video and 24 hour updated text news. The Israeli government has never granted it a license to broadcast, prompting charges of government discrimination against the Religious Zionist public. Arutz Sheva sees itself as “the only independent national radio station in Israel” and a counterbalance to “‘negative thinking’ and ‘post-Zionist’ attitudes.” Based in Beit El, an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, Arutz Sheva is regarded as the voice of the Israeli settlement movement. →
