I don’t really have the time or inclination to write about the issues related to Indiana’s religious liberty law. I know that it is based on the federal bill that Bill Clinton signed into law in the early 1990s. I’m researching it now to see what, if any differences exist between the federal bill and the one in Indiana. Apple CEO Tim Cook has a problem with it though.
Here’s what bothers me about this law. People like Tim Cook. He’s the CEO of Apple and he’s decided that Apple should put their full weight behind a movement that stands against religious liberty.
Recently, Cook tweeted out the following tweet:
Around the world, we strive to treat every customer the same — regardless of where they come from, how they worship or who they love.

and this one:
There’s something very dangerous happening in states across the country. http://t.co/QJTkCuZVdo

According to Gateway Pundit, Apple does business with several countries that actually execute individuals for being GAY. They are (in no particular order):
- Saudi Arabia
I guess then, it is FINE for Apple to do business with countries that actually kill, murder, execute people who are found guilty of being GAY, but when a state in the United States tries to follow suit with the Clinton-signed federal law that guaranteed religious liberty to people here in the US, well then Mr. Cook feels an obligation to step in and use Apple’s weight (achieved through all the profits made off of people who have spent their hard-earned money buying Apple products; myself included), to try to head things off at the pass.
I am SICK and TIRED of gay activists and their ilk opposing legislation in America that will allow a company or business to refuse service to individuals based on their beliefs.
I guess if a couple of KKK members went to a black-owned T-shirt business and ordered shirts with an offensive racist label on the shirt, Cook would agree that the business should be forced to do business with the KKK members? Or how about if Neo-Nazis went to a Jewish-owned bakery and wanted a wedding cake for two members that made bigoted comments about Jews on the cake? Would that be okay, Mr. Cook?
This is what people like Tim Cook are arguing about when in point of fact he obviously has NO problem continuing to do business with countries that execute gays. Even the gay activists in America barely say a word, nor do women’s groups when it comes to women in foreign countries who are often literally placed at the back of the bus.
This is the meaning of the left. They are filled with HYPOCRITES of the greatest order. Tim Cook is no exception and in fact, represents the rule for the leftist elite, who believe that if it has anything to do with even the possibility of “discriminating” against gays, then it is verboten. The problem is that they are not consistent at all.
Would Tim Cook even consider no longer doing business with the four countries mentioned above because they happen to go much further than simply discriminating against gays and kill them.
But gee, one can only wonder how much $$$ Apple would lose if they stopped doing business with Saudi Arabia alone? What? No more iPhones in Saudi Arabia? Gee, that wouldn’t go over well with stockholders, now would it, Tim?
I’m so tired of the hypocrisy of the left, something they obviously choose to ignore. They really only take a stand against principled people and Christians who believe that this country was founded upon Christian principles. They know that Christians won’t strap on bombs, won’t let loose a hail of bullets (the crazies on the left do that), or any other violent display (or looting) to get the point across. In that regard, the left sees Christians as wimps who can be railroaded.
What the left so easily (and repeatedly) forgets is that we BUY products too. We take our hard-earned money to the stores and purchase products that we want to have. But guess what, Tim Cook? Apple isn’t the only company that makes “smart phones.” They aren’t the only ones who make computers.
I would say that Apple needs to watch where it steps because it needs my MONEY more than I need Apple products.
I’ve got an iPhone 5. If Tim Cook continues with his crusade against religious liberty while ignoring the violence against homosexuals in at least four countries where Apple does business, then he WILL lose my business and he WILL be seen as a HYPOCRITE.
It’s really that simple, Mr. Tim Cook. Stop preaching to me! Stop using the money that hard-working Christians have given you in return for products Apple has created. We do NOT need your products.
Just make your product and SHUT UP. Enjoy your own personal beliefs and stop using the force of a company that YOU DID NOT MAKE to change laws in America. If you are gay – Tim Cook – I don’t care. If you are sympathetic to gays, I don’t care. If you have family and friends who are gay, I STILL don’t care. It makes no difference to me.
You are forcing me to choose another company for my smart phone needs. Is that clear enough for you?
