The Obama administration is failing to wage ideological war against ISIS terrorists on the pretext that attacking its religious philosophy will violate the constitutional divide between church and state. The abject hypocrisy of this position has probably not escaped the reader’s notice, particularly in light of such things as the HHS mandate under Obamacare which attempts to compel religious believers and employers to provide abortifacients, contraceptives, and sterilizations to women, free of charge and against their conscience.
Then, of course there is the widespread disenfranchisement of Christians in the military. This has included commanders being barred from disclosing any programs that are tied to the Chaplaincy or any programs involving religion, the Air Force banning the word ‘God’ from an Air force patch logo, a Navy directive that banned Bibles at Walter Reed Hospital, an Army Reserve training program that listed Evangelical Christians and Catholics as examples of religious extremism, as well as servicemen being forced to attend “diversity workshops” that carried anti-Christian connotations.
This approach has also facilitated the administration’s avoiding the painfully evident links between terrorism and Islam.
