Obama and his national security advisers held a closed-door meeting with “Muslim leaders,” on February 4th, the day before the National Prayer Meeting. It was requested by “Muslim Advocates, an Islamist group that’s demanded a stop to NYPD surveillance of radical mosques, anti-terrorist drone strikes and Gitmo detentions,” says Investor’s Business Daily. So you can already begin to see why it was “closed-door.”
The WH stonewalled the press for two days before releasing the guest list on the evening of February 5th, the Washington Times said.
Now we understand the hesitation. With the Middle East in unprecedented turmoil, the president refused to meet with the prime ministers of Israel and Egypt—supposed allies—but he did find time to meet with a group heavily peppered with Islamists.
Notable among the guests who met with the president and his security advisers were:
Imam Mohamed Magid, Executive Director/Imam of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS), a large Virginia Mosque. According to the Clarion Project, “In March 2002, the Herndon office of the ADAMS Center was raided by federal agents as part of a terrorism investigation into the Safa Group, a network tied to the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood.”
“In 2011 President Barack Obama appointed Mr. Magid to the Department of Homeland Security’s Countering Violent Extremism Working Group. In this position, Magid was authorized to train and advise personnel affiliated with the FBI and other federal agencies.”—From discoverthenetworks.com
Mr. Magid is also outgoing President of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).
Azhar Azeez, newly-elected president of ISNA (Sept. 2014).
ISNA, the largest Muslim organization in America, was originally founded by Muslim Brotherhood members, in the 1980s.
Here’s an excerpt from the comprehensive description at discoverthenetworks.org: “ISNA was explicitly named in a May 1991 Muslim Brotherhood document—titled ‘An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America’—as one of the Brotherhood’s 29 likeminded ‘organizations of our friends’ that shared the common goal of destroying America and turning it into a Muslim nation…. ISNA focuses heavily on providing Wahhabi theological indoctrination materials to a large percentage of the mosques in North America.” [Emphasis mine.]
Key evidence implicating ISNA [in the 2007 Holy Land Trial] showed that ISNA was funding HAMAS, according to the court. (Scroll to: ISNA and the Holy Land Foundation Trial) nevertheless, ISNA has been anointed as the go-to group for fighting terrorism without offending Muslims. Their definition of “offending” is minimal reporting on terror with no link between Islam and terror.
Farhana Khera, president of Muslim Advocates. She wrote the letter cited below, to John Brennan, “signed by 57 organizations, including many with ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood,…The letter denounced U.S. government agencies “use of biased, false and highly offensive training materials about Muslims and Islam.”— Robert Spencer, Jihadwatch
Rahat Hussain, national policy adviser of the Muslim Public Affairs Council. MPAC self-describes as: “a public service agency working for the civil rights of American Muslims…” But discoverthenetworks notes: “MPAC characterizes Israel as a “racist, chauvinistic and militaristic” state that is prosecuting “a war to steal land from Palestinians;…MPAC co-sponsored pro-Palestinian rallies in the fall of 2000;…In 2003, MPAC opposed the designation of Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist groups;…On March 23, 2005, MPAC National Director Ahmed Younis [said] that because Adolf Eichmann was himself a Jew, it could accurately be said that Jews had killed themselves in the Holocaust;…was one of 57 organizations to co-sign the letter to John Brennan.”
Also at the meeting were Mr. Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, National Security Adviser Susan E. Rice and Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes. —Robert Spencer, Jihadwatch
“On July 1, 2009, Judge Solis upheld ISNA’s designation as an unindicted co-conspirator, ruling that the government had “produced ample evidence” linking the group to Hamas and thereby justifying the designation…”—From discoverthenetworks Also scroll to: 2007 to the Present, at the link, for a host of instances demonstrating that ISNA is utterly incompatible with American culture and ideals.
Note: A federal judge later ruled that the unindicted co-conspirator document should not have been revealed to the public. Right: it should’ve been hidden from us.
An Act of National Suicide
If suicidal impulses are grounds for involuntary institutionalization, then our entire government should be confined in a mental health facility.
Patrick Poole, terror expert, writes, in TheBlaze: In October 2011, after a meeting with DOJ, Muslim groups and activists, a letter to Obama’s then-counterterrorism czar, John Brennan, signed by 57 Muslim groups, including ISNA and MPAC, demanded a “Purge [of] all federal government training materials of biased materials.” Their demands were immediately carried out, deleting 867 pages from FBI manuals alone.
Homeland Security’s Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties circulated to Govt. agencies a list of “Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Training Do’s and Don’t’s.” In developing the guidelines, DHS had the invaluable aid of some of the same entities named as unindicted co-conspirators in the HLF trial, including ISNA.
“In December 2011, the White House issued the ‘Strategic Implementation Plan for Empowering Local Partners to Prevent Violent Extremism in the United States’ – the local partners…, include[d] those cited by the Justice Department as working to aid foreign terrorist organizations. All national security and law enforcement agencies on the federal, state and local level would now have to consult these groups…as a matter of policy. [This] gave them an implicit veto over counter-terrorism policies.”
In short, under the guise of fighting “Islamophobia,” the very entities charged with protecting America now must carry out that mission under the guidance of groups declared by Judge Solis to be supporters of HAMAS. Under CVE, the mission is heavily weighted away from combating terror and toward achieving maximum silence about Islam and terror. A full-court press is on to criminalize Islamophobia, as was done in Europe.
