- In deciding where you live now, how important was the racial or ethnic make-up of the neighborhood?
- Should the federal government play a role in deciding where people can live?
- Is it the government’s job to diversify neighborhoods in America, so that people of different income levels live together?
That is the precise wording of the questions from a poll taken this month by Rasmussen Reports.* With the Department of Housing and Urban Development ready to release new regulations meant to diversify wealthy neighborhoods, American voters overwhelmingly say that it is not the government’s job to try to bring those of different income levels to live together.
This is clearly more of our communist president, Barack Hussein Obama, using HUD in his overtures toward totalitarianism. In the Soviet Union, they used to tell you where you could and could not live as well. If you wanted or needed to move, you had to get permission from the State.
