(Troy, Ohio) – Conservative challenger J.D. Winteregg today announced that he has taken a major step in his bid to unseat John Boehner in the March 2016 GOP primary election.
Zachary Werrell, who in 2014 engineered Dave Brat’s stunning primary upset of Eric Cantor, has officially signed on to be Senior Advisor to Winteregg’s campaign in Ohio’s 8th Congressional District.
“I am beyond excited to be a part of this effort to oust John Boehner…he is the epitome of all that’s wrong with today’s acquiescent and unprincipled GOP ‘establishment.’ Like so many other entrenched politicians who have been in DC for far too long, Speaker Boehner says all the right things in front of the cameras while doing the exact opposite up on the Hill. On virtually every important issue–from amnesty to Obamacare to debt reduction–his rhetoric no longer matches his reality. Like former Representative Eric Cantor, he has consistently caved to the ‘progressives’ while demonizing and attacking conservatives. With Republicans like Boehner and Cantor, who needs Democrats?”
“J.D. Winteregg represents the best hope for the voters of Ohio’s 8th Congressional District to finally have their voices heard in Washington, DC. J.D. is a solid conservative who says what he means and means what he says. And unlike the Speaker, a man who repeatedly breaks promises, J.D. really will ‘fight tooth and nail’ against the ‘progressives’ who are destroying our great nation.”
Winteregg was equally enthusiastic about his newest team member:
“Zach is terrific. He’s a tireless worker who brings energy and enthusiasm to the campaign. He’s also a proven winner who isn’t afraid to confront and defeat an extremely well-funded but out-of-touch incumbent. He has a lot of work to do, but I’m confident that he, (and those we hire in the coming weeks and months), will help me convince the primary voters of Ohio’s 8th district that now is the time ‘Cantorize’ the Speaker.”
RINOTRACKER RESPONSE FROM CHRIS ADAMO:
Conservatives have been appalled by Barack Obama’s policies, and the resultant devastation inflicted on our nation. The nearly universal sentiment among them is that America’s very future hinges on the victory of a true conservative in next year’s presidential race. Yet it has become painfully evident that Obama could never have implemented even a fraction of his detestable agenda, were it not for the complicity of key Republicans in the Senate and House of Representatives.
Without a doubt, House Speaker John Boehner is the chief culprit among Obama’s “Republican” enablers. Were it not for Boehner’s willingness to aid and abet Obama, much of the harm to our great country could have been curtailed, or even prevented altogether. Yet at every critical juncture, Boehner finds a reason to give Obama exactly what he wants, amid promises and platitudes to those annoying grassroots conservatives that, at some mythical point down the road, he will rally the House to actually oppose the liberal juggernaut.
With the announcement by J.D. Winteregg that he is challenging Speaker Boehner for the Eighth Congressional District of Ohio, Americans have hope of turning back the evil tide of unfettered liberalism, a daunting task to be sure, but hardly an impossible one. And with Mr. Winteregg’s astute strategizing, Ohioans and all of America may reap the benefit of his effort, and see the Congress wrested from the D.C. “Ruling Class,” and restored to the business of “We the People.”
Hardly a blind ideologue, Mr. Winteregg has made a bold and insightful move by hiring Zach Werrell. The 2014 campaign of Eric Cantor, was rife with big money from special interests who had personally benefited from Cantor’s thoroughly compromised tenure as House Majority Leader. Yet the massive insider influence enjoyed by Cantor could not totally insulate him from his constituents, who ultimately put the well-being of their country ahead of any perks he might steer in their direction.
In the same sense, Mr. Winteregg will need to convince the voters of Ohio’s Eighth District that the restoration of America’s greatness, and its reclamation from the clutches of Obama’s federal leviathan (with which Speaker Boehner has collaborated) is far more worthwhile to them and to their posterity, than the portion of federal pork Boehner can “bring home” on account of his position.
No doubt Boehner and his Ruling Class cohorts will cry foul, claiming that Mr. Winteregg’s challenge is detrimental to party unity, or some similar drivel. And the likelihood that people from across America will be giving financial support to the challenge will be decried as not representative of the Eighth District. Yet it is Speaker Boehner who has truly abandoned any real loyalty to his voting constituents, as well as conservatives anywhere in the nation, opting instead to aid and abet the special interests who defile representative government with their massive cash infusions and demands for recompense.
Let John Boehner and the Republican “Establishment” try to disparage this threat to their elitist club. They cannot conceal the noble cause it represents. J.D. Winteregg holds the potential to return a huge share of the government back to its rightful owners who are the people on the farms, in the factories, and on “Main Street” in Ohio and every other locale across America.
