The Republicans are clearly seeking a sure loser for 2016, so they can be assured of certain defeat. Let us help them focus properly, by analyzing the techniques of the great losers of the past—McCain and Romney.
McCain heard his followers at a 2008 campaign rally plead with him to fight harder for the presidency—one man said:
“…Frankly, we’re scared. We’re scared of an Obama presidency.” McCain replied with the most stupefying campaign statement of all time:
“Obama is a decent person and a person you don’t have to be scared of as president of the United States.” [Chorus of boos] On Election Day, he became a proven loser.
During his 2012 campaign, Romney obeyed a tweet from Obama strategist Axelrod to do the right thing, like McCain had, and not bring up Rev. Wright—even though there was breaking news from Wright himself that an Obama operative had tried to buy his silence with a large sum of money. A tweet! Letting the other side dictate your agenda is an old GOP losing tactic.
After months of non-response to Harry Reid’s lying about his nonpayment of taxes, Romney decided not to bring up Benghazi or the IRS targeting of conservative groups at the final debate—even though 59 million Americans were watching. On Election Day he, too became a proven loser.
Looking ahead, we must seek a worthy loser to succeed McCain and Romney—one who might even surpass them in “loser-essence.” At first, Christie seemed to be such a man: He didn’t even utter the name “Obama” during the keynote speech at the RNC, in 2012. On the eve of the election he literally embraced the president, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Yes, he certainly seemed to have the wrong stuff.
But then there arose from nowhere, a candidate who could transcend all prior GOP duds, also-rans and losers. He was someone not only capable of repeating the mistakes of the past, but ready to make new, unprecedented mistakes.
Better still, this candidate had a surname that’s absolute poison, a name that’s pre-smeared, even before the campaign begins. We can hear his Democrat opponent already:
“A third term of George W. Bush!” That’s right, a superlative loser had come to the fore: Jeb Bush.
Sure enough, he quickly ascended to the top of the polls, which are dubious, after one look at conservative dialogue online. But if the GOP ever checks on the opinions of its base, it’s only to field a candidate who believes the opposite. Unlike the Democratic Party, the GOP proudly fights its base.
In a very short time, Jeb has established himself as a magnificent heir to the hallowed GOP tradition of defeat.
It seems he’s developed a unique strategy for defeat: running to the left of his likely Democratic opponents.
The first “Jeb Bush Folly” was to let America know he championed the mind-dumbing, sex-drenched Common Core education standards—universally condemned by conservatives, detested by parents in forty-six states. It’s even being fought bitterly by the teachers’ union in New York. But Jeb Bush likes it.
Jeb Bush Folly #2 was to appoint as his foreign policy advisor notorious Israel-hater, former Secretary of State James Baker III. Baker wasted no time in attempting to out-do Obama in Netanyahu-bashing: March 23rd, he delivered the keynote address at the annual conference of the leftist, Soros-funded J Street. Here’s a quote:
“In the aftermath of Netanyahu’s recent election victory, the chance of a two-state solution appears even slimmer of course, given his reversal on the issue.” This was the same man who told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, in 1989:
“Lay aside once and for all the unrealistic vision of a greater Israel and reach out to Palestinians as neighbors who deserve political rights.”
Radio host and bestselling author Mark Levin said this:
“The annual conference of the activist group J Street features an array of anti-Israel speakers, including proponents of the Boycott, Sanctions, and Divest (BDS) movement, which seeks Israel’s destruction, and advocates for the terrorist group Hamas.
“Baker is infamous for his hostility to Israel, having said during his tenure as secretary of state in the George H.W. Bush administration, “F—k the Jews, they don’t vote for us anyway.
“Baker wanted the U.S. to punish Israel for destroying Iraq’s Osirak nuclear reactor. He hated Netanyahu as early as 1990, barring him from entering the State Department’s building. And last but not least, Baker co-wrote the Iraq Study Group’s 2006 paper that recommended…the United States tilt its foreign policy away from Israel and toward Syria and Iran—advice that Obama seems to have taken to heart.”
Jeb has wasted no time in utilizing two classic GOP blunders: letting the leftist media set his agenda, and trying to be more like Democrats—in particular, Obama. The president has a hate on for Israel, so—rather than take the other side—he agrees with Obama, thinking he, too will thereby win elections.
Jeb Bush Folly #3: Breitbart reports: Jeb Bush will team up with [despicable open-borders advocate] Rep. Luis Gutierriez (D-IL) as keynote speakers at the pro-amnesty National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference’s (NHCLC) annual convention on April 28th.
This is more Obama mimicry, though Jeb already had a pro-amnesty mindset, before Obama’s massive, illegal amnesties: Jeb called illegal immigration “an act of love.” McCain had said illegals are “God’s children, too.”
What’s next: will Jeb join La Raza?
Aside from Jeb’s leftist views, the problem with him and his ilk is they are dilettantes who have no conception that Obama and his radical disciples have damaged this country so seriously that it’s very likely beyond reclamation. They see no real urgency to elect a non-Democrat to succeed Obama.
More than urgent, it’s imperative. Witness the Obama legacy:
Obama and the media have made tolerance of radical Islam a national ethic, forcing the entire nation to walk on eggshells, lest they be labeled “Islamophobes.” He’s nearly made Islam the State Religion, while conducting a war on Christianity. Now he’s sucking up to the planet’s most loathsome and hostile regime: Iran.
He’s appointed men with Muslim Brotherhood connections to lofty positions in the DHS, to oversee our defense—against them. This began under President Bush, who was likely snookered, but greatly expanded under Obama.
The latest America-killer is the virtual dismantling of our southern border, and illegal amnesty for millions.
He has permanently damaged race relations in America, and encouraged perpetual, nationwide protests over manufactured racial issues.
Here are some more of his achievements, with the help of congressional Democrats: spending over 800 billion dollars on virtually nothing—the Stimulus—leading to the first-ever devaluation of the Nation’s credit rating; a takeover of the entire health care system, with cancellation of millions of insurance policies; reduction of our armed forces to a pre-WWII level; permanent, calculated demolition of the constitutional principle of separation of powers. Betrayal of our allies.
The 2016 election must be won, and a conservative must win it.
