We know that people will take advantage of those that are weak. In the animal kingdom, submission is shown by certain species in order sign to an aggressor the intention of the weaker party not to be a threat. In this manner, the weaker avoids a confrontation that could end in death. However, the difficulty of this analogy when you try to interpolate what might happen in the human sphere is that states tend to crush other States when there is a definite advantage to their nationalistic interests – especially if they know that the weaker state does not have the will or capacity to fight.
Unfortunately, America has a leader who not only signals weakness, but uses aggression against those that have in the past been allies, thus causing a breach in a relationship which once was, and should be solid. The signal then becomes one of being lacking in reliability, an ally that you can’t count on.
When a nation’s interests are at stake, there is no room for error and thus no room for alliances that are unreliable. Without reliable partners of similar worldviews, a nation will tend to look to its own security and over-fortify based on the perceived threat that it might face.
When America looks weak or unreliable to its allies, they then scurry to arm themselves or posture in such a manner as to seem aggressive rather than weak. If an aggressor is looking for an excuse to move against another nation and the signals are right, the entire balance of the dance between the communists and those that believe in democracy or republicanism is thrown off. Enemies can and do find mutual ground for “detente” and work to ease tensions, unless one of the protagonists is deliberately trying to create a crisis to gain advantage.
We know enough of the philosophical underpinning of Barack Hussein Obama to know that his simplistic view is to create a crisis which he can then manage. At this moment on the world stage he is outplayed, outmaneuvered, and weak. The trouble is that he does not see that he has been snookered by the real brokers of power in the world, and his national pants are down around his ankles – and with it the safety and security of America.
Time to pray folks: Russia and China are feeling their oats. They’ve taken the measure of Obama and found him sadly wanting. We are all in jeopardy.
